What happened between Shoko and Shoya?
First, let’s examine what happened. Shoko finally felt comfortable enough around Shoya to try speaking aloud, and she changed her hair so that she could confess her feelings, but Shoya rejected her not once, but twice. The first time was by telling her to use sign language, even going so far to admit she sounded weird when Shoko asked.
Why did Shoya become an outcast?
Shoya had a female classmate called Shoko, who was deaf. Some of the friends of Shoya start bullying Shoko. Soon the complaint reaches the principal and Shoya is singled out as the culprit and he gets the reputation of a bully, hence becomes an outcast. Shoya’s classmates pass mean comments to him and he becomes lonely.
Will there be a new Koe no Katachi chapter?
The author stated in an interview that there won’t be a new chapter or volume showing Shoko and Shoya as a couple, because she didn’t want it to be a typical shoujo romance. Edit: changed he to she, as the author is female, just like another person pointed out. Yoshitoki Ooima, the author of Koe no Katachi, is a woman.
